For head teachers and school owners

For partner schools

Level Learning gives a partner school two things: sponsors who pay for individual pupils every month, and a tablet at the gate that takes the register for you. In return we ask for accurate enrolments, honest attendance and a teacher who can send the occasional update.

What the School Keeper app does

It is built on an app our partners have used in the field for years, adapted for a school. It runs on an ordinary Android or Apple phone or tablet.

Enrols pupils

A teacher adds a pupil with their first name, age, class year and term, and lists what the year costs in plain words: fees, uniform, books, meals. A parent ticks consent on the spot.

Flags needs and fulfils gifts

Tag what a pupil is missing, like shoes or exercise books. When a sponsor sends it, the gift appears in the app, the teacher buys it locally and confirms with a photo of the item.

Sends updates

A short note from the teacher, or a photo of a piece of work, goes to the pupil's sponsor. The app checks photos on the device and blocks any that contain a face.

What the entrance kiosk does

We give the school a tablet. Switched into kiosk mode from the school's login, it locks to a single screen and takes the register as children arrive.

  • Recognises each pupil on the deviceThree face samples are taken at enrolment and kept only on that tablet. The child looks at the screen and is greeted by their first name.
  • Keeps working without signalSign-ins are stored on the tablet and sent up when the connection returns.
  • A teacher can override itManual sign-in with a reason, for the mornings when the light is bad or a child is new.
  • Is built for a fingerprint reader laterThe identification step is designed so a USB fingerprint reader can be added without changing anything else.

What we ask of a partner school

  • Enrol pupils accurately, with a parent's consent recorded for each one
  • Run the kiosk every school morning and keep the tablet charged and safe
  • Agree the attendance you aim for with us (we suggest 80 percent) and keep the sign-ins going
  • Buy and confirm gifts promptly, with a photo of the item
  • Send a short update when there is something worth telling a sponsor

What a partner school receives

  • Monthly sponsorship payments for enrolled pupils, settled by Level Learning
  • A tablet for the entrance, with the School Keeper app installed
  • A daily register and monthly attendance figures without paper
  • Gifts for individual pupils, chosen from the needs you flag
  • A Level Learning contact on the ground in your town
